Ginny & Georgia
A fairly new show called Ginny & Georgia is an amazingly cringe television show many, along with TheStackRuns, adore.
The Weekly Review
The show Ginny and Georgia was a terrific, cringe high school Tv Show that deserves a season two. The storyline of Ginny and Georgia takes place in a suburban town in Westbury, Massachusetts. The two main characters Ginny and Georgia, are a mother-daughter duo who are constantly at odds. Ginny is a bi-racial black teen played by Antonia Gentry, whose father is black, but both her mother and brother are white. Ginny's mother, Georgia, played by Brianne Howey, is a gusty middle-aged mom who had Georgia as a teenager. Georgia faced many plights as a teenager running from one abusive environment to another. Georgia constantly has to deceive men and her children to get by in society, but as the storyline continues, her stories unravel.
Ginny explains her plight as a bi-racial black teen who never fits in with black kids or white kids during the show. Yet, she constantly tries not to be friends with the African American teen named Bracia, played by Tameka Griffiths, when she reaches out to her. Ginny's personality trait was that she was a mixed teen who constantly moved around because of her mother, but she had a character development phase at the end of the season. Throughout the show, Ginny had a love triangle between her, Hunter Chen, played by Mason Temple, and Marcus Baker, played by Felix Mallard. This love triangle creates a heated ending to the season because Ginny and Marcus are in love with each other, but because they were messing around during the span of Her and Hunter's relationship, it adds to the drama! Plus, it did not help that Ginny got disbanded from her friend group, MANG, after her best friend, Maxine Baker, played by Sara Waisglass, found out Ginny slept with her twin brother Marcus! The ending of that storyline was the icing on the double-layered Cake !!! Hopefully, in season two, we get to see more of that story play out.
Ginny was not the only one with multiple romantic suitors, but her mother as well! Georgia's personality trait was that she was a deceiving person who craved the stability she never got as a kid. Georgia's romantic suitors list entailed Joe, played by Raymond Ablack, Mayor Paul Randolph, played by Scott Porter, and Zion Miller, played by Nathan Mitchell. He also played the role of Ginny's absentee father.
Georgia constantly has blasts from the past that take over the life she is trying to portray. Georgia uprooted their family from Texas to Massachusetts because she killed her ex-husband for the money and got away with it! But at the end of the season, the show leaves discontent with the viewers because of the cliffhanger that Georgia may have gotten away with murdering one of her ex-husbands, but the other one is grounds for speculation! Georgia started the season just as she ended the season, being a badass mom!
Overall, Ginny and Georgia deserve a season two because not only has it turned heads and been the topic of discussion for over a month now, but it is still sitting at the number nine slot for the top ten shows in the U.S right now! Although there has been some controversy surrounding their comment towards Taylor Swift's love life, the show is fantastic and was more than that statement, but they should still apologize.
