Time To Get Serious?
How to Boost your college application !
Okay, first things first, this segment will be most helpful and most delegated for those who have at least figured out you want to attend college ( For those of you who are unsure, please check out the trade school segment down below). These are some ways for you to boost your application!
Try to attain better grades! For many of you, it is not too late to up those grades so you can get into a more selective school, but please remember it does not matter where you go to but how much you feel as if the campus is geared towards your academic rigor, personal style, and tolerance.
Choosing classes ( mainly electives) that align with what you want to do when you grow up. For instance, many people in my school take biology classes because they want to do something in medicine or biology when they are older. Having a theme is great on a high school transcript because it shows what you are interested in through your college application.
Only take challenging classes if you know it is something you like or something hard but will be easy for you. It is not impressive to take exuberantly challenging courses and leave with a seventy-five, but it is remarkable to take a class you know you will do well and leave with a ninety-eight.
Just like with your elective courses, choose extracurriculars that are not only fun for but are in something you are interested in! Extracurriculars matter just as much as grades (okay, maybe a little less, but still crucial)!
Have fun throughout high school! There is nothing worse than a person so desperate to attend a selective school and kills themselves trying to get in. Colleges want you! Not a former shell of you! Remember, rejection is just a re-direction!!!
