Euphoria Should Not Go Past Three Seasons

My Problems With the Show.

Euphoria is not just a television show, and it has barricaded my for you pages on Tik Tok, annihilated my explore page on Instagram, and bombed Twitter. Euphoria made a community. Is it a good community? That would be up for debate.

Now I have watched every episode of Euphoria: season one, season two, and even the special episodes. Euphoria is obviously a pretty good show, but the writing and the lack of tying up loose ends will cause Euphoria to die. Not to mention if loyal viewers have to wait until 2024 for the next upcoming season.

Euphoria is known for its dark themes and shock value. But what if that's all Euphoria is? Shock Value. The writer of Euphoria, Sam Levinson, is an okay writer, and I say that with absolute modesty and care for his feelings. Euphoria has so many different and complex thoughts that never seem to finish or end. Character development should have been a primary goal for this season as it should have addressed the problems in season one, but no season two starts in a whole different spectrum. Season two felt entirely disconnected from season one, as it did not address Cassie's abortion, Mckay's rape, or anything to do with the confident person Kat was, which right now she's not. Rumors that the actor who played Kat, Barbie Ferreira, walked out of the set due to the poor writing of Kat's character, which caused a lot of her lines to be cut in season two. Also, another rumor is that Cassie, who Syndey Sweeney plays, told Sam multiple times that her character does not need to be in the nude as often as she is. Sam has consistently shown that his writing is horribly flawed because half of the show that goes on barely gets talked about. Even the ending of season two, which was supposed to clear up questions and leave a good cliff-hanger, was completely horrible as it did not explain anything that went on in season one or most of the stuff in season two. Sam's writing begets questions and not good ones. Most notably and most personally of mine is why should I keep watching?

In season three, Sam Levinson has his work cut out between his bad writing and the crappy finale that season two had. Who knows what Euphoria will be, but if season three airs in 2024, I most certainly will not be watching.
